The recent online phenomenon that has gone viral and has everyone dumping buckets of ice water on their heads — the Ice Bucket Challenge — is yet another example of how infectious social media can be.

The challenge, which was started in order to raise awareness about amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) and encourage donations for its research, has the whole world buzzing about new ways to make videos that will go viral.

 Metrolife interacted with some college students on their thoughts on the campaign and whether they plan to take part.
