Economy to grow over 7%, says FM

“Even though Reserve Bank and Prime Minister’s Economic Advisory Council have forecast 6-6.5 per cent growth and 6.5 per cent growth this fiscal, I am confident of the economy growing at 7.75 to 8 per cent in 2009-10,” he told the Annual General Meeting of PHD Chamber of Commerce & Industry here.

The Mid Year Review has projected that economy would grow by over 7.75 per cent in fiscal 2009-10.

With Indian economic clocking 7.9 per cent growth in the second quarter of this fiscal (July- September, 2009) he expected the Gross Domestic Products (GDP) to grow in range of 7.5 to 8 per cent in the third and fourth quarter.
