Staying busy and young

Birthday Boy

Popular actor and television host Ramesh Aravind turns a year older today but he doesn't sound a wee bit bored of what he has been doing.

He says he wakes up every morning thinking only one thing: “what next?” All that he thinks about is what he can do next and how better he can do it.

This year, for the first time, Ramesh has been giving motivational speeches. This happened after many corporates requested him to speak about how he juggles several things at the same time and still not lose sight of anything.

Ask him how he handles pressure, and he says , “What pressure? I don’t face any pressure at all. When you enjoy what you are doing, you wouldn’t feel the pressure at all.”

Ramesh feels it is important to put your heart and soul into everything that you are doing.  “You are only as old as you think,” he reiterates. Ramesh spent a better part of his youth reading  books and researching.

“This is what has stood me in good stead. I draw strength from my happy childhood and youth. I always tell young people to plan for the present and that it will take care of the future. Many people just live in the present and forget about the future,” he feels.
The one thing that Ramesh has been doing through all his movies, talks and shows is connecting with people.

“You have to connect with people. Only this connection mends and builds relationships and makes the bond stronger,” he feels.

Ramesh has completed his directorial  venture Uthama Villain, which has Kamal Hassan in the lead role.

“The film is based in two eras — the 21st century in which Kamal is a superstar and the eighth century in which he is a folk artiste. There are five heroines of different age group sand each one has a substantial role to play. None of the roles overlap,” he reasons.
Ramesh says that it is the script that inspired him to take up the challenge to direct the film.

“The story is a wonderful combination of sentiments, romance and comedy. And more than anything, I have enjoyed the spirit of working together,” he signs off.
