Urging the need for increase in ease of business in the pharmaceutical industry, officials of the Karnataka Drugs and Pharmaceuticals Manufacturers’ Association (KDPMA) on Tuesday called for the total implementation of the pharmaceutical  policy announced by the State last year to facilitate further growth in the sector.

Speaking to reporters, KDPMA President, Jatish Sheth, said, “The policy addresses relevant issues and would help the industry flourish, however only parts of it have been implemented since it was announced in 2013. This is because the policy would facilitate opening of clusters and finishing schools which would improve quality of manpower.”

“Clusters in this sector are extremely important as it brings down manufacturing cost, and the industry will grow quickly once this concept is more common,” Jatish Sheth said.
