Enquiries abound on Day 2 of DHRealty Expo

Last Updated 28 September 2014, 19:52 IST

The second day of the DH Realty Expo saw families and young working executives looking at a price of Rs 1,500 per square foot.

The expo however, barring one or two players, had Rs 3,000 per sq ft as the minimum take-off point. A lower price point is what was universally sought by buyers. But representatives of most real estate companies said the minimum cost at present was nothing less than Rs 3,000 per sq ft.

Brigade Group salesperson Arun Nair said they got a good response. “We received good number of leads and even did one booking here today. Our pricing is well above Rs 3,000 per sq ft.”

Shriram Properties reported higher queries on the second day. “We got 27 queries on Day One, today we’ve done 40 - in all 67. We have one set of properties for around Rs 2,599 per sq ft, but this is at Attibele, and not in City limits. Inside the City, we have homes costing Rs 5,300 per sq ft, especially in Sarjapur area,” said marketing person Smita.

Sobha received 30 queries on the first day, but by late noon on Sunday, they received around eight queries. Harshvinder Kaur, marketing person for Sobha, said pricing with Sobha begins at a minimum of Rs 5,000 per sq ft.

“We see many low-budget consumers. It has been a dry day today,” Kaur claimed.
Puravankara, also a high-end real estate house, received 70 queries on Day One and 40 on Day Two till late noon, said Lawrence Prithviraj, sales.

The Provident Group, according to Vatsal Koolwal, Marketing, received 35-40 leads on Sunday compared with Saturday. The Group is charging Rs 38 lakh inclusive of all fees for a two BHK home and about Rs 46 lakh for a three BHK allotment at Rs 3,500 per sq ft.

The Mantri Group showcased properties in the range of Rs 65 lakh to Rs five crore with medium homes costing between Rs 60-70 lakh.

The minimum buying price here is Rs 5,100 per sq ft. Sohail Taraporewala, of Mantri Group, says they have received 95-100 queries over the two days of the exhibition.
Apart from Citrus Ventures, DS Max offered homes for Rs 30 lakh and below—Rs 17.99 lakh. Such budget apartments are all out of the city limits, coming up at Attibele, close to Anekal.

The second day saw an increase in queries for many, while others had a good first day. Total volume of footfalls, most felt, could have been higher.  In terms of price band, there were at least three real estate houses that offered homes below Rs 40 lakh and even Rs 20 lakh.
