IG road: 'Maintain status quo'

The residents of the road like Vincent Mendonsa, Peter Mendons, Jayachandalal, Shanthilal Jain, J L D’Silva, Kasmath D’Silva had filed a writ petition in the High Court demanding not to demolish buildings for road widening work.

After hearing the case, the Court has ordered the authorities to maintain the staus quo of the building for two weeks. In this regard a notice has been issued to DC, PWD, CMC and Urban Development Authority.

The meeting of the building owners will be convened at the earliest, said Chikmagalur Deputy Commissioner R  Narayanaswamy.
