Though Samsung’s India plant in Noida has the manufacturing capabilities to also make CDMA and GSM handsets, the expected volumes for the former did not now justify manufacturing them in India, Hendrick Lee, VP, Mobile Division, Samsung India Electronics, disclosed here. He was in Chennai to launch Samsung’s “Corby Speed’, its first touch screen mobile handset on the ‘CDMA platform’ with high speed mobile broadband capability.
