Staff members of the Forest Department captured a female leopard that had wreaked havoc at Chaluvanahalli Gavimatha village on Sunday.
Since the forest area near the village is suspected to have two to three leopards hovering in the night, the residents were petrified and the department staff members had placed a cage to capture the animals.
At around 5 am on Sunday, the leopard, aged three to four years, was trapped in the cage, said the Department officers, who have now shifted the animal to the forest in Mysuru in a lorry.
