<p>Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar Friday said the army had done justice by awarding life sentence to five soldiers for a fake gun battle in Kashmir that killed three civilians.<br /><br /></p>.<p>"It goes to show that the army punishes anyone who does not go by procedure," Parrikar told reporters on the sidelines of an event in Vasco, 40 km from Panaji.<br /><br />The former Goa chief minister said the army had done justice in the case.<br /><br />On Thursday, the army sentenced to life five soldiers, including two officers, for killing three Kashmiri civilians in Macchil in Kupwara in 2010 after branding them terrorists.<br /><br />Those sentenced were Colonel Dinesh Pathania, Captain Upendra Singh and soldiers Davender, Lakhmi and Arun Kumar.</p>
