KSP chief stages dharna over entry into toll road

The president of Kannada Sahitya Parishat Pundalika Halambi sat on a dharna in front of a toll booth near Shanthigrama in the taluk on Tuesday, after his vehicle was not allowed to pass through without paying the toll.

Halambi was on his way to Sharavanabelagola after taking part in Halmidi Utsav at Belur. The staff at the toll booth refused to allow his vehicle, despite the driver informing them that the KSP president was exempted from paying the toll.

An irate Halambi sat on a dharna at the toll booth protesting the conduct of the toll booth staff.

The public, who noticed the turn of events, convinced the toll staff to allow Halambi’s vehicle without paying toll.
