Parvesh, Shanti decimate field to emerge champions

Parvesh A emerged winner in the 21km half-marathon in the open men’s section of Ajmera Thump, Celebration Bangalore,  held at NICE Toll Plaza, Nayandahalli, here on Sunday.  

Parvesh clocked 1:11:15 to bag the top honour ahead of Mahendra (1:14:35) and Nanjundappa (1:16:02).
Ajmera Thump is organised by Life Is Calling, a Sports Management Company and the event aims to encourage good health and fitness.

In the open women’s section, Shanti Kumari won the half-marathon in a time of 1:38:42. Neera Katwal (1:44:00) and Amrita Mitra (1:46:15) settled for second and third positions.

In the 10km run, Santosh (33:44) ran to tile in the open men’s section while Preenu Yadav bagged the top spot in the corresponding women’s event, clocking 42:54. The gold medal winners in both the feature events were awarded a cash prize of Rs 3 lakhs.
