The Bidadi police are awaiting orders of executive magistrate to exhu-me the body of Sangeetha, ‘sanyasini’ who died at the Nityananda Dhyanapeetam, to conduct a second autopsy.
Sangeetha Arjunan (24), who hailed from Tiruchirapalli in Tamil Nadu, died of an alleged cardiac arrest on December 28. According to the Ashram authorities, Sangeetha had collapsed in the ashram and was declared dead at a hospital in Bengaluru.
However, her father Arjunan and mother Jhansirani had filed a complaint with the Ramanagara superintendent of police Chandragupta alleging foul play. The parents said that Sangeetha had moved in with them in Tiruchirapalli some time ago, however the Ashram staff had taken her back.
“The parents have moved the request for a second autopsy. We have forwarded the plea to the executive magistrate. The exhumation will be carried out if the magistrate gives a direction,” Ramanagara SP Chandragupta said.
