A 38-year-old woman, who was recently found dead at her house in Narela, was killed by her husband. He had been forcing the woman into flesh trade, police said on Tuesday. Kishor was arrested on Tuesday.

Police said Suman was killed by Kishor for resisting his demands. But as the house was found ransacked on January 13, police had initially suspected that she was attacked for resisting a robbery.

She lived with her husband and two children in Narela’s Punjabi Colony. Kishor runs a shop of readymade garments. On January 13, Kishor had gone to the shop, while their children went to school. The incident came to the light when Kishor’s employee Rahul went to the house to take his lunch.

“The main gate of the house was open. When Rahul went inside, Suman was found lying on the bed. As she was not responding, he raised an alarm,” said police.

Hearing the commotion, neighbours had gathered and a call was made to the police at 2 pm. She was taken to Satyawadi Raja Harish Chander Hospital, but was declared brought dead.

During interrogation, Kishor told police that he had strangled Suman before going to the shop. He had attacked her in a fit of rage during a heated argument due to which she had also suffered injury marks on her neck, face and arms.

A case of murder was lodged against him at Narela police station.
