Speaking after receiving the “Nrupathunga Award” he termed the recent calls for the division of the State as “unfortunate”. He said at a time when fissures were developing in the State on caste and religion lines, following the ideals of Nrupathunga was the only succour. The award instituted by BMTC carries a purse of Rs 5,00,001.
CM Yeddyurappa recalled contributions of GSS to Kannada literature. Transport Minister R Ashok said free bus passes would be provided to executive committee members of Kannada Sahitya Parishat.
