I was guided by mother: Saroja Devi

The actress was responding to a query by a journalist at ‘Belli Hejje’ an interaction programme organised by Karnataka Film Academy in Bangalore on Saturday. “Let both of us go where my mother is to ask her this question. She will clear all your doubts”, Saroja Devi replied with a smile.

Saroja Devi said she had always followed her mother’s guidance. “I never went against her wishes. I was married to a person, who was my mother’s choice”, she said.

She said cinema had been her life and she never can bid good bye to the film world. Her role as Kittur Chennamma had been her favourite. “I have a distinct relationship with the character of Kittur Chennamma. As Chennamma I too lost my dear ones in my life. I lost my mother, husband and daughter”, she said.

The actress said she learnt the art of managing day to day affairs and life from her husband Sriharsha.
