Armed men made away with Rs 2 crore in cash from a mobile phone shop in Karol Bagh after holding the owner and employees hostage at gunpoint.

Police have been left clueless about the identity of the suspects.
One CCTV camera was found installed in the building and it appears to have captured the passing culprits. However, since that part of the building was dark at the time of the crime, the footage proved to be of little aid. The alleged robbery took place around 8 pm on Tuesday in the Ragerpura locality of Karol Bagh.

Rohini-resident Shyam Lal, 58, owns a mobile phone shop on Street Number 53. He was present in the shop along with his employees at the time of the crime.

Seven men armed with knives and guns had barged into the shop and asked Shyam Lal to hand over the keys to the safe containing the cash. The shop owner handed over the keys even as the robbers collected the mobile phones of the other employees. After they were done with clearing the safe of Rs 2 crore, they left the shop after locking the doors from outside.

By the time the victims could manage to emerge from the shop and raise an alarm, the robbers had escaped. Police were informed and a case was registered.
