Caste-abuse plaint against chief secretary

 Karnataka Rajya Jeetha Vimochana Sangha on Friday lodged a complaint with the Vidhana Soudha police against Chief Secretary Kaushik Mukherjee accusing him of insulting its office-bearers by referring to their castes.

“We had taken an appointment to discuss issues such as untouchability and bonded labour.
“However, the chief secretary insulted us by referring to our castes during our appointment,” said Sangha chief Govindaraju.

“The Sangha will also bring the issue to the notice of the President, the Chief Justice of High Court, the Governor and the State Human Rights Commission,” he added.
Mukherjee’s personal assistant has lodged a counter-complaint with the police.
