Youth Cong plans jatha over areca disease

The district Youth Congress has decided to hold jatha of arecanut growers in Nagabhoganahalli on January 15, demanding compensation to the growers.

Youth Congress President Sachin Meega said “arecanut growers have been successful in getting compensation to the yellow leaf disease after five years of struggle. On the same model, struggle must be started to get compensation.”  Youth Congress will urge the Centre to announce special package for the arecanut growers in Bayaluseeme region.  He urged the government to appoint experts to find solution to the disease.
