African woman claims youth abused her

Close on the heels of an assault on a few African nationals on Monday night at Byrathi in Kothannur police limits, an African woman claimed on Wednesday that she was abused by a few local residents in Kammanahalli.

However, the woman did not lodge a complaint with the police.

According to sources, the incident took place near Hotel Empire in Kammanahalli. The woman went there for  dinner and stepped out.

While she was talking to somebody on the phone, a group of local residents passed lewd comments against her, added the sources. The woman panicked and rushed back home. Later, she met John, the president of the African community in Bengaluru and told him about the incident.

The Banaswadi police summoned John to ascertain details after they received the information. The police clarified that the woman did not turn up at the police station.
