<p>The Karnataka Home Guards and Civil Defence has been selected for ‘Golden Peacock Innovative Product/Service’ award for this year, for its efforts in revitalising and revamping the organisation to meet the contemporary times and needs. <br /><br />The award recognises the efforts of Civil Defence to raise and train a comprehensive citizen force in aspects of first aid, safety, self defence, emergency etc. The award will be presented by Salman Khurshid, Union Minister for Corporate Affairs here on January 16.</p>
