Budget has a big role in democracy, says Professor

Budget plays a significant role in democracy. A popular government will never present a balanced budget. Presenting a deficit budget with good programmes, shows the responsibility of the government and indicates that the budget is people pro.  However, the announcement of popular programmes could be seen as usual, said Ajjampur First  Grade College Principal Prof Moksha.

He was speaking at a  discussion programme on Union budget, organised by Soorankana Vedike at Urecka academy in Chikkamagaluru on Tuesday.

It is notable that the current budget has not touched upon the IT sector. But, stress has been laid upon savings. The budget also aims at attracting the people towards agriculture, thereby increasing the agricultural revenue. According;y, irrigation has been given a focus, he explained.

City Municipal Corporation Former President C R Premkumar said that the Union budget is subject to changes in the share market. After the announcement of the recent union budget, the Indian share market is in the second position, he added.

Nagendra of Rachana builders said that communication and agriculture are the sectors of the country. But the popular budgetas have been neglecting these sectors. Subsidies will not be necessary if all basic amenities are provided to farmers.

Advocate Gopinath, Sugam Sangeeth Sanga General Secretary Manjunath Kamath, R K Balachandra of Corporation Bank Self Employment Centre, retired Principal Dhruva Kumar and others took part in the discussion.
