The festival of Ugadi is here and foodies can celebrate the new beginning by treating their taste buds to some authentic fare from the South. Dakshin, the speciality restaurant at the ITC Windsor, presents a delicious culinary fare for the day. The feast, which has a confluence of the traditional and the contemporary, is called ‘Celebrated Tastes of Southern India’.

The authentic feast celebrates the onset of spring and promises to enchant all the senses. Masterchef George Jayasurya and his culinary team have put together a special celebratory menu for the occasion.

‘Kadle Gojju’, the traditional black chick peas preparation of Ugadi and ‘Obbattu’, the delicious lentil and jaggery stuffed flour pancakes grilled with ghee, are two of the dishes on the menu.

One can also treat themselves to ‘Tarkari Saaru’, a melange of garden fresh vegetables cooked in coconut milk, lentils, and spices or ‘Hookosu Khara Palya’, a spicy and tangy cauliflower preparation.

The sumptuous spread will be available for both lunch and dinner. Dakshin is located in ITC Windsor, 25, Windsor Square, Golf Course Road. For reservations, call 41401205.
