The bandh call given by Bhadra Drinking Water Horata Samithi demanding to rectify loopholes in the poor quality of work on drinking water projects,  was partially successful.

The members of the samithi forcibly closed down the business establishments in the morning. Schools, colleges, and banks functioned as usual. By afternoon, all the shops started their business. The protesters took out a procession which culminated at taluk office.

Zilla Panchayat former president K M Kemparaju said there is a need to conduct a probe into poor quality of work initiated.

MLA Y S V Datta should explain his contributions to Kadur constituency in the last two years. The MLA should make an effort to ensure that Kadur residents get water from Bhadra project.

“If we fail to get water within two months, then we will stage indefinite hunger strike in front of taluk office,” he added.
