Last Updated 26 March 2015, 19:09 IST

Union Minister for Surface Transport Nitin Gadkari is likely to meet the minister and the officials of the Public Works Department for reviewing the proposed Bengaluru-Mysuru highway and other National Highway projects on March 30.

According to PWD Minister H C Mahadevappa, the department will be holding a meeting with Gadkari to finalise the requests which were placed before the Centre for the national highway projects in the State, earlier this month. Gadkari is scheduled to be in Bengaluru for a private function related to the inauguration of a factory. The PWD will begin the construction of Yelahanka-Doddaballapur Road, a four-laner, from March 28.

Mahadevappa said the project, commissioned under public-private-partnership (PPP), will be a tolled road. “We have to toll this road and all others which will come under the PPP model, as private entities need to recover the costs,” he said.
