Members of Justice for Baby Nirbhaya, Mangaluru, on Friday said that nothing had moved forward in the case of sexual assault on a three-year-old school girl by her school bus driver. The incident had occurred in the school bus in Mangaluru on March 13, 2015, when the child was on her way home.

Addressing a press meet here on Friday, Umar U H, member of Justice for Baby Nirbhaya Group (JBNG), said that the rape survivor and her parents were being harassed by the police and the school administration.

“They are being repeatedly summoned to the police station. So far, no action has been taken against the school administration and the accused because the school is run by a retired DG&IGP and other police officials,” he said.

The members had organised a silent protest on March 21, at Mangaluru. Even the local bodies had not pursued the case. The school violated safety measures and guidelines prescribed under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (Pocso) Act, Umar said.
