Death in school sump: HM in charge suspended

The in-charge headmistress at the Government Lower Primary School at Pattandur Agrahara in Whitefield, where a class 3 girl was found dead in the sump on Tuesday, has been suspended for “dereliction of duty.”

Nirmala C, a teacher who was the in charge headmistress, was suspended by S M Ramesh, Block Education Officer, South-4.

Another teacher will be assigned to the school, the BEO added.

The school, which has 47 schools, remained closed on Wednesday. Besides Nirmala, there is a male teacher at the school.
