Both the books and the two movies have not been so popular or at least as popular as the Harry Potter books and movies. However, the album brings together some of the some of the best established and emerging names which you normally you do not get to listen to in the mainstream.

All of the various indie styles are represented here in the 15-tracks (electronic, indie-pop, psych-rock, brit-pop, alt-rock, chamber-pop and post-rock ). Yet it is still a cohesive and captivating collection of songs. The highlight of the album is original music by some lesser known bands like Sea Wolf (‘The Violet Hour’), Band of Skulls (‘Friends’), Hurricane Bells (‘Monsters’) and OK Go (‘Shooting The Moon’).

Also included is a remix from Muse, who appeared on the original Twilight soundtrack. Every recording featured on the soundtrack is exclusive to the soundtrack, either having never been released previously or as a remixed version.

‘Meet Me On The Equinox’ by Death Cab For Cutie is a melancholic, brooding, dusky guitar dirge. “Everything, everything ends” goes the lamenting lyrics. ‘Friends’ by Band Of Skulls is a delirious, bass-heavy track. ‘Hearing damage’ by Thom Yorke of Radiohead is a spooky, haunting digital electro-funk song. Swedish songstress Lykke Li sings a largely acapella, ‘Possibility,’ while ‘A White Demon Love Song’ by The Killers is a spacey, piano-led track. ‘I Belong To You’ by Muse has an operatic David Bowie glam rock style, while ‘Rosyln’ by Bon Iver and St Vincent is a subdued and stirring duet. ‘Done All Wrong’  by Black Rebel Motorcycle Club is an acoustic campfire lament. ‘Slow life’ by Grizzly Bear has a folk-pop pastoral tinge to it.
