The matter came to the notice of BBMP officials only on Saturday, who went to the spot on a receiving complaint that the subway was caving in. The Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) Chief Engineer for Major Projects Chikkarayappa said there was no major damage to the underpass, but only the false ceiling of the underpass had fallen down.
The BBMP officials have decided to take up the repair work and would ensure that such things would not be repeated in the future.
A BBMP junior engineer has lodged a complaint with the jurisdictional police station.
