<p>The Lokayukta police have arrested a superintending engineer of Public Works Department (PWD), Dharwad Circle, on Thursday for carrying lakhs of unaccounted money.<br /><br /></p>.<p>According to a press release issued by the Lokayukta, based on credible information, they intercepted a vehicle at Guhilal tollgate in Hiriyur taluk and found Rs 36.85 lakh cash. <br /><br />They questioned PWD engineer Chandrashekar Eligar who was carrying the cash. As he could not give a satisfactory reply and had no proper documents for the cash, which he was carrying, they arrested him and seized the cash and the vehicle.<br />DH News Service</p>
