Teenage girl among five held for burglary

Police have arrested a gang of five members including a 19-year-old girl in a burglary case.

The arrested are: Kadiresh, 24, of Bilakehalli, Charan, 22, of Hongasandra, Uday, 25, Suresh alias Chimpanzee, 23, both from Tilak Nagar and Nikitha, 19. They have recovered gold valuables worth Rs one lakh.

D B Chandra, a project manager with a construction company, had lodged a plaint on April 21, that four masked men barged into his house, assaulted him and made away with cash and gold valuables. During investigation, police found that the complainant had called his friend Nikitha. During a conversation, he had told her that he was alone at home. Nikitha hatched a plan to rob Chandra. She informed her driver Kadiresh, who along with his friends went to Chandra’s house assaulted him before making away with gold valuables cash.

Chandra managed to alert the police. A few years ago, he had met Nikitha during a construction project and they were in constant touch. “Kadiresh revealed that Nikitha hatched the plan to rob Chandra and promised a share in the booty. It is being investigated whether they are involved in similar cases,” said a senior police officer.
