Mumbai-headquartered Creative Portico, a leading player in bed and bath soft furnishing in India, aims to export its products to the Middle East very soon, a top executive said on Tuesday.

Creative Portico, which is a part of the Creative Group, markets Portico New York’s products, which include bed sheets, bed covers, duvets, duvet covers, towels, towel gift sets, shower curtains, soybean duvets, anti-mite and anti-mite bacterial pillows, bath mats, blankets, and more.

Talking to Deccan Herald, Creative Portico CEO Arun Bhawsingka said, “We are going to export from this month by targeting countries with sizeable Indian diaspora. We will be foraying into Middle East countries such as the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Iran. Then, we will move to South-east Asian countries.”

Portico, which began its journey in 2004, has a manufacturing facility in Daman with a capacity of 25 lakh metres per month. Creative Group forayed into home textiles 10 years back in the name of Portico.

“Currently, we have 23 exclusive brand outlets (EBOs). We sell through over 1,000 multi-brand outlets (MBOs) and about 400 modern retail outlets. We are growing at the rate of 30 per cent year-on-year and we hope to maintain the tempo in the next three-to-four years,” Bhawsingka said. Portico New York has one outlet in Bengaluru and Mangaluru. The company plans to add 20-25 EBOs in the next two years.

Bhawsingka was in the city to announce the association with Panchjanya Textiles, part of the Tallam Group Company, a large brand distributor in South India. To tap the eCommerce boom, Portico has partnered with bedbathmore.com and others.
