Govt's achievement in two years is zero, says Shobha

BJP leader and Udupi-Chikkamagaluru MP Shobha Karandlaje on Thursday said the achievement of the two-year-old Siddaramaiah-led Congress government in the State is zero.

She was addressing a party workers’ meeting organised in view of gram panchayat election in the town.

“The Congress government is busy preparing plans to systematically stop the BJP government’s programmes, including the Bhagyalakshmi scheme meant for girls. It says it has implemented Anna Bhagya and Ksheera Bhagya schemes. But the rice of Anna Bhagya scheme is going to Tamil Nadu and children are neither getting milk nor milk powder under Ksheera Bhagya scheme. This shows that the government’s achievement of the government is just zero,” she criticised.

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has completed two years in just announcing projects, including the irrigation ones. He should now show concern towards people’s problems at least now, she observed.

“The government is saying that water can be supplied to districts in the plain through Yettinahole project. But so far, no project has been successful to provide water to this region,” she said.

Shobha said the government is silent when people are affected by fluoride problem and farmers have lost crops to untimely rain.

“The agriculture and district in-charge ministers have no time to visit rain-hit areas and console the farmers who have lost all their crops to rain,” she criticised.

The people should calculate the funds spent on welfare programmes during the previous BJP and the present governments to understand how villages have been developed in the State.

Referring to removal of BJP’s flex boards in the town, she charged that officials, who act as per the government’s wish, are behind this.

“They can remove the flex boards. But they cannot remove the BJP which is in the minds of the people. The officers should not engage in politics,” she said.

Shobha said the officers have become the ploys of the government.
MLC C H Vijayashankar said the people are fed up with Congress and JD(S) rule and they will vote for BJP in gram panchayat election.

District BJP unit president N M Ravinarayana Reddy, former legislators Jyothi Reddy, Shivanand Naik, leaders Dr G V Manjunath, Agalakurki Manjunath, Srinivas Reddy, Lakshmi Narayan Gupta,  A V Byregowda and others were present.
