Japanese consumer electronics brand Sansui launched its new Curve 4K Ultra High Definition LED television series here on Friday, along with three other series, 4K Ultra HD, Smart TV and Connect TV.

They have currently introduced the series with 55-inch screens and plan to introduce 65-inch screens in July. The prices of the various models in the four series will range from around Rs 38,000 to Rs 1,99,990.

Sansui Chief Operating Officer Amitabh Tiwari said, “In the Connect series, the TVs will have a Videocon d2h chip incorporated inside that would eliminate the need of a set top box.” He added while the tie-up with Videocon was exclusive, the chip could be used with other brands as well.

Tiwari said under the Smart TV series, the televisions are based on Android version 4.4 Kitkat, which facilitates browsing, downloading, online interactive media and on-demand streaming. The new series are expected to be in the market by the third week of this month.

Sansui’s current market share is about 9-10 per cent. The brand is planning to invest around Rs 80 crore in promoting the new models.
