JOIN USThe annual KA Nettakallappa Memorial Road Races, sponsored by Deccan Herald and Prajavani and organised by the Deccan Athletic Club, will be held in Chamarajanagar and Haveri.
Chamarajanagar will host the races on June 19 while it will be held in Haveri on July 3. The races will be held in four categories — Men (12 Kms), Women (6 Kms), Boys U-16 (2.5 Kms) and Girls U-16 (2.5 Kms). The races are open to all athletes across Karnataka and there will be no entry fee.
Entries, with proof of date of birth for the age-group categories, may be sent to Anantharaju, Organising Secretary, Deccan Athletic Club, Pragathi, No: 39/137, 1st ‘D’ Cross, 6th main, REMCO Layout, Vijayanagar, Bengaluru -- 560040.
The entries for the Chamarajanagara run should reach on or before June 16, while for the Haveri run, the entries close on June 30. For men’s and women’s races, there will be prize money up to 10th place with the top three getting Rs 5,000, Rs 3,500 and Rs 2,500 respectively. For the U-16 boys and girls, the winners will receive a prize money of Rs 1,500, while the second and third place finishers with get Rs 1,000 and Rs 750 respectively.
