JOIN USKaif, Parvinder tons put Central in command
The Uttar Pradesh pair of Kaif (148 n.o.) and Parvinder (113) completed their respective tons as Central, resuming at 150 for three, were 367 for five when bad light forced an early closure to day’s preceedings.
Ranadeb Bose claimed his 300th first class wicket when the medium pacer cleaned up Suresh Raina (98) early in the day, two short of left-hander’s hundred. The joy of bringing an end to a very productive -- 164 runs --fourth-wicket stand was, however, shortlived as Kaif and Parvinder stitched together a 184-run partnership for the fifth wicket. Kaif, like on Tuesday, was more watchful while allowing his younger team-mate to do all the scoring. An adventurous Parvinder hit 13 fours and a couple of sixes in his 159-ball knock before Ashok Dinda bowled him to bring an end to his innings. Meanwhile, Kaif reached 7000 first-class runs when on 75.
