A large number of agitated parents and pre-university students, who had applied for photocopies of their answer sheets a week ago, gathered outside the Department of Pre-University Education (DPUE) office here on Tuesday alleging that none of the department officials was available to answer their queries.

“Ever since the day of the results, we have been visiting the DPUE office every single day. We come here in the morning and go back after the office closes. My daughter applied for photocopy on May 19 and is yet to received it,” said Chandrakala, a parent. Her daughter has secured 12 marks in physics. The mother and daughter have been making trips to the DPUE every day, but in vain.

Meanwhile, the department announcing the date of CET results (June 1) has added to the anxiety of those still awaiting photocopies. Another student, who also applied for photocopy on May 19, said the officials were not giving them any concrete answers for the delay. “People who had applied after us have received their photocopies but we are still waiting,” she added.

DPUE officials said there was no problem in processing the photocopies. “For some subjects like mathematics, the demand is huge and hence it might take a little longer. Otherwise, everything is going smooth,” an official in the department told Deccan Herald.
A release from the department stated that a A total of 13,500 photocopies have been despatched through speed post to student’s destinations by 5.30 pm today. Out of 147 withheld cases 33 cases have been cleared.
