Keep offices clean, BBMP commissioner tells staff

The BBMP Commissioner G Kumar Naik has advised his subordinates to clean up their offices and its surrounding areas to create a healthy work atmosphere.

His advice came following his surprise visit to many Palike offices at the Palike head office on Wednesday. The Commissioner was taken aback to see old files with a thick layer of dust, broken chairs, electronic scraps, almirahs, passages of the Palike offices blocked by discarded materials etc.

He said the unhygienic condition of the offices drive away people with grievances. “People should feel like visiting your offices.”

He said the biometric system is in place, which provides information about the timing of arrival and departure of staff from the office. Thus, the BBMP staff should be time conscious before the administration takes a serious note of the irregular time schedule of the erring officials.
