Rajasthan arts, crafts fair opens

Rajasthan art and crafts fair at Moti Mahal in Mangaluru houses a wide range of ethnic items. The expo will continue till July 5.

The funky bangles, nail work bangles, variety of earrings, conventional small beaded necklaces are available in different colours apart from Sanganeri saree from Rajasthan, “Kantha work,” “Pashmina,” “Dhopian,” “Baluchari” silk sarees from Kolkata, Tussara, Matka sarees from Chattisgarh, Kalamkari, Mangalgiri sarees from Andhra Pradesh, Chanderi, Maheshwari silk sarees from Madhya pradesh.

Along with this, there is Samblapuri Ikkta, Chanderi cotton, veg dye block printed sarees. Be it Jodhpur furnitures, Sarangpur furnitures, Hyderabad black metal statues, Jaipur style jewellery, variety of clay models, crockery items, jute bags, the exhibition houses a wide range of ethnic items.  

Inaugurating the expo, Member of Legislative Assembly J R Lobo said the expo provide an opportunity for the artisans to showcase their produce directly to the customers. The  expo represents a variety in country's heritage, he added.
