Britannia posts higher profits in Q4

For the year ended 31st March 2009, the company reported net sales of Rs 3,112 crore a growth of 20.4 per cent over the previous year. Profit from operations at Rs 240.30 crore was 17 per cent higher.
Net Profit for the year at Rs 180.10 crore was lower and was impacted by a one-off loss of Rs 20.60 crore 2008-09 compared with a one-off gain of Rs 7.80 crore in the previous year, the company said.
Britannia has declared an interim dividend of Rs. 40 per share. The Board of Directors also approved a scheme for issue of bonus debentures.
