1 dead and 4 injured in cylinder blast

Lakshmamma’s daughter Anasuya,  son -in-law Manjunath and neighbours Kamalamma (55) and her son Ravi (30) have been admitted to Victoria Hospital with burns. Police said the condition of two injured is critical. Police said the mishap occurred due to the leakage of domestic gas at Kamalamma’s house.

The roof of the Lakshmamma’s house next door collapsed due to the impact. So severe was the explosion that widows and walls of many neighbouring houses developed cracks and the noise was heard as far as 200 meters away.

Thieves strike temple

Ornaments worth Rs 10,000 have been stolen from Hippe Anjaneya Swamy temple in Nelamangala. The incident is said to have taken place on Monday night.

According to the police, the thieves had locked the priest’s house, which is located in the temple premises, from outside and escaped with the jewellery. A case has been registered by the Nelamangala police station.
