<p> The High Court on Wednesday hoped that the State Cabinet would quickly <br />approve a comprehensive policy on safety of schoolchildren. <br /><br />Hearing a petition that has sought the court’s direction on implementing child safety measures in schools, Justice A S Bopanna directed the government to submit an action taken report in that regard. <br /><br />The government counsel submitted that the government had framed safety guidelines for schoolchildren by incorporating inputs from all departments and the Cabinet’s approval was awaited. <br /><br />The counsel said that the government would give details of what it had done to instal CCTV cameras and take other safety measures in state-run schools. The counsel also mentioned the rape of a three-year-old child at a school in Indiranagar. <br /><br />The bench directed the government to submit an action taken report and adjourned the hearing until August 19. <br /><br /></p>
