<p>A deputy collector had a spat with a police constable in full public view when he was stopped from entering the ancient Mahakal temple here out of turn, but he still went inside and offered prayers.<br /><br /></p>.<p>Constable Bhanvarlal, posted at the entry gate of the temple, allegedly stopped the Deputy Collector Narendra Suryavanshi from entering out of turn.<br /><br />This led to a heated argument, but Suryavanshi still went in and offered prayers.<br />When he came out, angry words were again exchanged and the two almost came to blows, but other officials present at the spot pulled them apart.<br /><br />"Yes, we have learnt that there was a fight between a police constable and deputy collector at the temple," Ujjain Range Inspector General of Police (IGP) V Madhukumar said.<br /><br />The district collector would probe the incident, he told PTI.<br /><br />However, Inspector Manoj Dubey of Mahakal police station said neither the constable nor the deputy collector had approached them with complaint.<br /><br />A video clip of the incident went viral on the social media.<br /><br />According to frequent visitors to the temple, policemen often find themselves in a spot as political leaders and other 'VIPs' sometimes seek to have darshan of the deity (Mahakaleshwar) without standing in the queue<br /></p>
