NMAM Institute wins overall championship project programme

The Nitte Mahalinga Adyanthaya Memorial (NMAM) Institute of Technology of Nitte, Karkala, has bagged the overall championship in the 38th Series Seminar and Exhibition of Student Project Programme, reports DHNS from Mangaluru.

The programme was organised  by the Karnataka State Council for Science and Technology (KSCST) at the Sahyadri campus, Adyar, on Saturday.

The best project of the year (seminar project) under the natural resource stream was bagged by the civil engineering branch of the Sahyadri College of Engineering and Management for the project titled “Feasibility study and prototype design for biogas production in an engineering college from canteen food waste” and designed by Abhith G, Renitha G D”Souza and Shrikalpa P under guidance of Dr Gautham J and Rashmishree K N.

Chairperson of the Institution of Engineers (Kolkata) Dr L V Muralikrishna Reddy, chief guest of the valedictory function, complimented the KSCST for igniting young minds with ideas and also encouraging students to take up projects which, in turn, serve mankind.

NITK (Surathkal) Department of Applied Mechanics and Hydraulics Prof Lakshman Nandagiri called upon students to be more practical and stressed on flip-classes and e-classes.

Chamundeshwari Electricity Supply Company Limited Director (Technical) N Lakshman, Bhandari Foundation Chairman Manjunath Bhandary, Principal Dr U M Bhushi and KSCST Executive Secretary Dr S G Sreekanteswara Swamy were present.
