The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) officials, probing into the August 30 murder of Prof M M Kalburgi in Dharwad, on Friday questioned the residents of an apartment opposite the writer’s residence for possible clues about the killers.

A team of three police officers questioned the people living in Vishwas Apartment at Kalyan Nagar First Main, 9th Cross, for four hours from 10 am to 2 pm trying to find out if any of them had seen the suspects from their balconies facing Kalburgi’s house. But they returned empty-handed.

They said the residents had, however, assured them complete cooperation in the investigation.

The CID team collected some footage from the CCTV camera installed outside one of the houses located on Barahakotri Road near the railway track close to the scene of the crime.
Meanwhile, the members of the Film Industry Directors’ Association visited Kalburgi house on Friday and expressed their condolence to the bereaved family members.
