BWSSB to conduct survey of connections

To make water and sanitary connections more transparent, the BWSSB has planned to conduct a service-station-wise survey and then upload the data on a Geographic Information (GI) system.

The first such survey will be conducted in Kothanur Dinne Service Station area on October 13 and 14. The service station has about 10,000 connections and 100 nodal officers will survey 50 houses each per day.

Details like name and address of the owner, dimension of the site, number of floors and type of connection will be collected. Officials said this will help get information on consumers and spot illegal connections and pro-rata violations.
