450 more MBBS seats in State from next year

Minister For Medical Education Dr Sharanprakash Patil on Thursday said that 450 medical seats will be added to the matrix from three government medical colleges starting in Chamarajanagar, Kodagu and Uttara Kannada districts for the next academic year.

Speaking to mediapersons here on Thursday,  the minister said that a proposal to start six new medical colleges has been pending before the finance department for approval.
The minister was the town for inaugurating CT scan and blood cell separation unit at the government hospital.

Around 100 students were admitted at the Medical College of ESI Research Hospital in Kalaburagi.

There have been no major issues pertaining to the approval of medical colleges in the State, barring a few matters of seat reduction at some private colleges, he said.
