Free Dasara pass for foreign tourists

Kalpavruksha Trust, Mysuru, in association with the district administration, has made arrangements for foreign tourists on the premises of Ayurveda College, to witness the Dasara Jamboo Savari on Vijayadashami day, on October 23.

According to a press release issued here by trustee A G Devaraju, the Trust is involved in playing host to foreign tourists during Jamboo Savari since 2013 and this year, arrangements have been made to accommodate 2,000 foreigners.

The Trust provides free drinking water and snacks to the foreign guests and also makes arrangement for commentary of the carnival in Spanish by Merita Shantharaj and in English by M Mahadev. The pass is a 16-page booklet, which has information about the history and heritage of Mysuru and also about the tourist attractions around.

The press note states that in 2013, the Trust played host to 1,260 guests from 82 nations, while in 2014, 1,378 guests from 67 countries made use of the facility. Call: 91648 37773, 99161 60645, or 98444 05624, for registration.
