Two criminals accused of kidnapping a lecturer in Haryana and threatening a man over property dispute were arrested in Dwarka.

Jai Bhagwan, 27 and Sonu, 31, are close accomplices of notorious gangsters Anil and Jyoti, and were wanted in a case of threat to life and Arms Act.

Police said in 2009, both the accused had kidnapped a lecturer, who is also the son of the principal of PDM College of Engineering in Bahadurgarh, Haryana, with the help of Anil, Jyoti and Dheerpal from the gate of the college amid high security as some VVIP had to visit the college that day. They released the victim after taking a ransom of Rs 20 lakh.
In another incident, on June 28 this year, the duo had threatened a man of dire consequences over a property dispute in Najafgarh. A case was registered against them and they had been evading arrest since then.

On Friday, based on information that two criminals of Anil and Jyoti gang would come near Sector-13 Metro station in Dwarka to meet someone, a trap was laid near the station and they were arrested.

Police said Jai started working as a taxi driver at IGI Airport at the age of 20. Soon he came in contact with Anil and Jyoti, and started committing crime with them. Jai is also involved in four criminal cases, including rape and kidnapping for ransom, said police.

Sonu was also a taxi driver at the airport where he came in contact with Jai, Anil and Jyoti. Police are interrogating them about their involvement in other crimes.
