At least six people were injured and dozens of vehicles damaged as protesters attacked cabs carrying people returning home after attending Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s rally in Kupwara district on Saturday.
Reports said the people who had travelled all the way from Kupwara to Srinagar to attend Modi’s rally were returning in hired vehicles when they came under attack from the protesters.
As the cabs were moving towards their respective destinations, angry youth appeared on roads and pelted stones at them at several places along the 100-km Srinagar-Kupwara highway. Confirming the attacks, a police official said the vehicles were damaged.
