The English language examination for repeaters, BA first semester, under the University of Mysore, scheduled for Wednesday has been postponed to December 13 as the question papers had been changed.

The examination was supposed to be held in colleges across Mysuru, Mandya, Chamarajanagar and Hassan districts. For students, who had attended college between 2006 to 2011, question papers of new syllabus were despatched by the university authorities by oversight.

However, as the issue came to the notice of the principals of the respective colleges, where the exams were supposed to be held, the exams were suspended.

University authorities, when contacted, said, the mistake had come to their notice and for repeaters of the 2006-2011 syllabus re-examination will be held on December 13.

Hassan
Confusion prevailed for a while at an examination centre in Hassan, as repeaters appearing for the English exam conducted by the University of Mysore, complained that the questions were from the new syllabus, resulting in postponement of the exam.
The students, who had studied between 2006 and 2011 had appeared for the supplementary exams in English on Wednesday.

Their signatures were taken and question papers were distributed, when the error came to the fore.

When the centre contacted the university authorities, the latter admitted that the wrong question paper had been dispatched.

The principals were directed to postpone the exams, it is said.

Mandya

As the University of Mysore failed to dispatch the question papers for the English supplementary exam, that was scheduled to be held on Tuesday, the exam had to be postponed much to the disappointment of the students.

The repeaters, who had pursued their graduation during the year 2006 to 2008, had gathered at the Government Women’s College, here, to appear for the first semester BA exam. But, as the university had not dispatched the question papers, they could not appear for the exam.

It is said that the students were ready to write the exam and seated in the classrooms. When the staff looked for the question papers to be distributed, they found that the question papers had not been sent. It was brought to the notice of college Principal V T Ramachandra.

He immediately contacted the university officials, who confirmed that the question papers had not been sent and directed him to postpone the exam.

Speaking to Deccan Herald, Ramachandra said, as per the directions of the university, the exam has been postponed.
